Comic, Kidlit, 80 pages.

Lucía always spends summers with Juan, her beloved grandfather. However, this vacation is somewhat different from the previous ones: her grandfather is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Devastated, this represents a significant void in her family and in her vacation; nothing will be the same without him.

One day, while cleaning up the storage room of the house where she used to spend the summer, she discovers a secret: her grandfather’s past that she didn’t know about and that her family wanted to bury. Her grandfather was a “witch,” or, rather, he was a witch-doctor. Little by little she ties up all the loose ends of her family’s story and learns more about this profession.

All of this will involve an internal struggle over the perception she had of her grandfather, who was accused of murdering people, and also overcoming grief at such a young age, learning that not everything is black or white and that humans are complex beings.
