(A dying star’s last wish)

Young Adult, Coming out of age. Main Themes: Friendship,“Found Family”, Self-love & Acceptance.
Legend has it that in a remote village in the Pyrenees, there resides a celestial body, called the “Moon”. She had always found herself sleeping under the mountains until one day, “Moon” woke up and all the inhabitants of the area were fascinated. A majestic, ethereal and incomprehensible entity for humans. She was superior to human knowledge; a perfect being. Humans from all over the area came to see this miracle, thus becoming a place of pilgrimage.
However, one day this “Moon” spoke. “I’m alone. I want a star. Bring me one.” Her faithful followers, amazed at having heard her voice for the first time in centuries, ran to plot a way to please their “Moon”.
So, after many centuries of trying to catch a star from the sky and a lot of hard work, the believers of that “Moon” finally achieved it. “The prophecy has been fulfilled, the prophecy has come true!” “We have captured a star!” Thousands of people celebrated, grateful that their prayers had been heard.
To this day, on new moon nights, when She Who Is Almighty rests, you can hear the sobbing of Orion, the name they gave to that star. He longs to return to the night sky and be free, not remembering that he was once human and that his friends are searching for him.
